NOTE: Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers and contributors! We wish you a safe and joyous holiday season! If you don't live in Russia, you have much to be thankful for. If you do, good luck finding a decent turkey -- you can be thankful for the continuing efforts of many heroic people to stop the neo-Soviet threat.

NOTE: Back in March, commenting on an article about Russia! magazine, we expressed worry that this might be yet another Kremlin effort to spew forth its malignant propaganda. As our readers well know, no sooner did we do so than Russia! contacted our publisher, Kim Zigfeld, and offered her a regular column which she happily accepted (Kim's first installment is linked in our sidebar, and appeared in the magazine a few weeks ago). Therefore, we are delighted to confirm again that our suspicions were not realized and we have no reason to believe Russia! is Kremlin-controlled (or, if it is, we're confident that it's certainly open-minded enough that it doesn't matter). We'd also like to take this opportunity to announce that we would be delighted to receive invitations to write for Russia Today and Russia Profile, the two outlets which we know for sure are sponsored directly by the Kremlin as official propaganda outlets. In the tradition of William Safire at the New York Times, we would welcome the opportunity to bring some actual truth to their virtual pages. However, we don't expect to receive any such invitation any time soon.
