More Athletic Disaster for Russia

Defending champion Russia was humiliated at the World Water Polo Championships in Budapest, Hungary. First it lost its opening match to tiny Croatia and then it was obliterated by Serbia-Montenegro yesterday, eliminating its medal chances.

So it goes in Putin's Russia. La Russophobe has documented a litany of sporting debacles to go along with disasters on every other front, yet Putin's Neo-Soviet approval ratings continue as Russia goes merrily back down the road to failure.

UPDATE: The next day, Spain handed Russia its third straight loss.
