Because of her humiliating, pathetic performance at the U.S. Open, Maria Sharapova's world ranking has plummeted from #2 to #4 , and she is only #6 on the calendar-year champions race.
Anna Chakvetadze is in easy striking distance of knocking Shamapova down to #5, and the wretched Svetlana Kuznetsova, whose single tournament win this year came with the help of not one, not two, but three match defaults, including the finals, is now the top-ranked Russian.

You just make yourself sound foolish when it comes to talking tennis.... just stop commenting about tennis.. How closely do you watch it? Yes, Kuzentsova played poorly in the semi and final, but she is one of the more TALENTED tennis players currently on tour. What talent does Serena and Venus have? Ah, they can grunt louder than anyone else on tour? They have bigger biceps than most men on tour? Come on... Just give it a break. Kuznetsova has a complete game. That is what makes her a good tennis player.
Did you ever give credit to Justine Henin for just out right commanding the final? The way Henin played never gave Kuzentsova even a remote chance of winning that match.

Kuznetnsova is great even though SHE NEVER WINS. Sounds very similar to what the USSR used to say about itself.
Dude, it's not a TALENT competition it's a WINNING competition. ANYBODY can say they've got "talent." Only results matter. Russia can't understand this, and prefers illusions. That is why we write about tennis and continue to do so.
By the way, you seem to believe we might believe that you have our best interests at heart and are giving us advice because you want us to succeed. If so, that makes you one of the biggest morons ever to comment on this blog. Congratulations!
